History
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University was established on July 3, 1992, by law no. 3837. Department of Turkish Language is a department affiliated with the Rectorate of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. It has an academic staff consisting of Department Heads, Deputy Heads of Departments and Lecturers.
There are 14 permanent Turkish Language Instructors, 8 in Çanakkale center and 6 in the districts. Additionally, within the scope of Article 31, 3 faculty members have been assigned to give lectures.
Mission
To improve students language skills such as listening, reading, speaking and writing in Turkish language lessons.
To support students in expressing their feelings and thoughts accurately verbally and in writing by teaching Turkish grammatical concepts, spelling rules and punctuation marks.
To introduce the historical development of Turkish Language, the works and authors given in this development process.
To give information about Turkish culture.
To give students the habit of reading books.
To raise students awareness about how to express themselves correctly in their social lives and comment from a critical perspective.
Vision
Language is the most important element that enables learning the history and literature of a society, developing its culture, and accurately transferring it to future generations. Individuals who can use their own language best verbally and in writing always achieve success.
Within the framework of the Turkish Language course, it is aimed for students to improve themselves in terms of language and literature history and to achieve academic success by creating research and application methods.
Education System
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Rectorate Turkish Language course is given face to face as a compulsory credit YÖK course in the first grades of Faculties, Schools and Vocational Schools by expert lecturers.
The lessons are planned in a way that they will be held online with audio-visual materials suitable for extraordinary situations.
